Three Stages of Human Development

Over 1,400 years ago, the Qur’an described with remarkable accuracy the stages of human development inside the mother’s womb — a fact that science only discovered in modern times through advanced technology like microscopes and ultrasound imaging.

...He creates you in the wombs of your mothers in stages, one after another, in three layers of darkness... [Quran 39 : 6]

Three Stages of Life in the Womb:

1] Pre-Embryonic Stage (0–14 Days): Fertilization and implantation of the zygote.

2] Embryonic Stage (3–8 Weeks): Formation of organs and body structures.

3] Fetal Stage (9th Week to Birth): Growth and maturation of the baby.

The Qur’an described these stages over 1,400 years ago, perfectly matching what modern science confirms today.

You may also independently confirm it by conducting a Google search.

Dr. Keith L. Moore, a world-renowned expert in human embryology, has studied the Qur’an’s descriptions of human development in the womb. He stated:

“It is clear to me that these statements must have come to Muhammad [PBUH] from God, because most of this knowledge was not discovered until many centuries later.”

Dr. Moore’s research confirms that the stages of embryonic development described in the Qur’an — from the nutfah (drop of fluid) to the ‘alaqah (clinging substance) and mudghah (chewed-like lump) — match exactly what modern science has discovered. His acknowledgment highlights the divine precision of these revelations over 1,400 years ago.

When we see these miracles in the Quran, our faith on Allah increase and increase.
