The universe has been expanding ever since the Big Bang.
The fact that the universe is expanding was discovered in the previous century. The physicist Stephen Hawking
wrote
in his book ‘A Brief History of Time’.
But the Quran told us about this expansion 1400 years before it was discovered.
'We built the universe with ˹great˺ might, and We are certainly expanding ˹it˺." (Quran : 51 - 47)
"The discovery of the expanding universe is the greatest discovery of the century." which was mentioned in the Quran more than 1400 years ago.
Allah SWT said in the Quran:
Jinn and mankind, if you can penetrate the diameters of the heavens and the earth, do so, but you cannot do so without power and authority.
(Quran 55:33)
The word "aqtar أَقْطَارِ"
used here means "diameters" but diameters are strictly properties of circles and spheres. Today we know that the earth's atmosphere and the observable universe are spheres.
This has been known recently; however, it was described in the Quran 1400 years before it was discovered.
