Allah has said in the Quran about one of the evil unbelievers who forbade the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) from praying at the Kaaba.


No! If he does not stop, We will take him by the naseyah (front of the head), a lying, sinful naseyah (front of the head)! (Quran 96 : 15 - 16)


Why did the Quran describe the front of the head as being lying and sinful? Why didn’t the Quran say that the person was lying and sinful? What is the relationship between the front of the head and lying and sinfulness?


This is because the front of the head is responsible for planning, moral judgment, intention, and behavior. When a person chooses to lie, reject truth, engage in deceptive behavior, or commit evil, those decisions originate from the functions controlled in the front part of the brain. Thus, the verse highlights the part of the brain responsible for guiding a person toward truth or leading them into sin.


Science discovered this only recently, but the Qur’an mentioned it over 1,400 years ago. This verse is another strong indication that the Qur’an is truly the word of Allah.
