The Prophet Muhammad [PBUH] mentioned something very interesting about the housefly more than 1400 years ago:


Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (ﷺ) said "If a house fly falls in the drink of anyone of you, he should dip it (in the drink) and take it out, for one of its wings has a disease and the other has the cure for the disease." [Sahih al-Bukhari 3320]


Scientists have discovered that one wing of the housefly carries microbes, while the other holds antimicrobial agents that can fight harmful bacteria.


At first glance, this may seem unusual, but modern scientific discoveries have shown that this statement contains remarkable insight.


This Hadith is a powerful sign of the truthfulness of the Prophet ﷺ and a reminder of Allah’s perfect design in even the smallest creatures.
